This bachelor thesis deals with the last novel by Dostoyevsky The Brothers Karamazov and the film based on the book directed by a screenwriter Petr Zelenka. The first part of this thesis deals with a comprehensive analysis of Dostoevsky's novel The Brothers Karamazov in terms of literary theory and history, the second part focuses on the issues of the film adaptation based on the novel The Brothers Karamazov, directed by Petr Zelenka. The aim of this thesis is to provide a comprehensive and integrated analysis of the novel The Brothers Karamazov. This thesis investigates, if ideas of Dostoevsky's works are currently up to date. Above all, this work deals with comparison of literary and film adaptations, focusing primarily on formal and semantic differences of these entities. The first chapter of this thesis deals with the genesis of the novel The Brothers Karamazov. In this section, a creation of the novel The Brothers Karamazov is placed in historical context and there are described the effects and circumstances that Dostoyevsky was influenced by in the course of writing this novel. The second chapter focuses on the narrative aspects of the novel The Brothers Karamazov. It is divided into nine subsections, each dealing with one literary and theoretical point of view. Thesis "The Christological, soteriological and relevant spiritual topics in the Dostoevsky Work The Brothers Karamazov" applies to the life and literary heritage of the Russian writer Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky, especially to his master piece The Brothers Karamazov. The novel summarizes the writer's life ideas which have matured throughout life. In this work, the emphasis is primarily put on finding and describing christological and soteriological features contained in the novel demonstrating the author's inner conviction and faith in Jesus Christ. The thesis also points to some spiritual themes, which are crucial in the literary work, such as human suffering and questions of faith and human freedom. Transposition of the novel into theatrical and than to film adaptation

This thesis examines the semiotic rules and processes of the transfer of the original novel into a theatrical script, and then into screenplay of the film, with practical examples from the novel The Karamazov Brothers by F. M. Dostojevskij, screenplay Karamazov of author Evald Schorm and the film script by Petr Zelenka. It focuses on the processes of dramatization, shows communication models and compares mainly text form of screenplays. Dream about the Paradise on Earth in the Work of Dostojevskij

The dream about an earthly paradise, rediscovery of an original, absolutely harmonic paradisal life is, in Dostoevskij's opinion, one of the deepest and the most valuable dreams of the human heart. The spiritual course of any human being has its own history, it is born from thesis (babtism), goes through antithesis (crises) and finishes in synthesis (beauty). A man comes from the Eden Paradise and aims at heaven. So, a man in course of his spiritual life is in a real split into two paradises: the Eden Paradise from which he is coming from and the Kingdom of God where he is aiming at. The midpoint of the life course is accompanied by a crisis, that can also be described as separation from the the paradise. The characters of novels by Dostoevskij failed due to the fact, that they were not able to admit their presence between two "paradise states" and so their ideas about earthly paradise establishment were being corrupted. In our piece of work we are going to follow four trends: 1. Time corruption, incorrectly understood sense of history. The work deals with the Philosophy of Education as a benefit and what work was Dostoyevsky for the field. It explains what events were crucial for the creation of the author. In theory way addresses what elements are repeated in the works, what is their specific meaning and how they fit into the context. Attention to social experiments that Dostoyevsky made with their heroes. Pays attention to what such social experiments lead. Based on the described trying to determine the fate of points which the reader should after reading Dostoyevsky's novels, recognize and enhance teaching with their positions.
